Hey everybody, it is the one and only, it is Melanie Day here with You've Got Curls and Hair Loss Center. I am back again, sharing some hair care tips with you because, man, I've got a lot of tips for you.
So, if you don’t know me, I am about to be your favorite stylist. I’m here to help you to grow healthy hair. That is my goal. That is what I’m here to teach you as always. And today to start you on that journey I’m walking you through the three tips to grow healthy hair. So let's kind of deep dive into it. We're gonna talk more about the secret of hair growth and length retention next week but today this is my focus, building a foundation for you to literally grow upon.
Get a Proper Hair Care Regimen
So this one is a big deal.
When you think of a hair care regimen or any type of regimen, what it is at its core is something that is specifically built for you. It’s tailored to your needs and specifically built for what you're trying to achieve.
When you have a good hair care regimen, it takes everything into account; if you have a scalp condition, what's currently going on with your hair, if you're needing to change certain products, the weather, and its effects on your hair. Literally, everything needs to be considered when building a hair care regime.
When you work with someone like myself, who is you know, a hair expert and a licensed cosmetologist, we can really see what needs to be done and be more prescriptive with that.
Work with a Licensed Hair Professional
Of the thousands of people that I've worked with over the last, you know, almost 20 years of helping them with their hair this has been the most consistent tool used by people who are successful in achieving their goals.
Seeing a licensed cosmetologist who trains, and who takes additional classes in education, but also knows the body and the anatomy and how things should work makes all the difference on a hair journey. So you want to find someone who you trust, and who’s knowledgeable to help you reach your goals.
Be Realistic with Your Goals
Be realistic, be honest, and be kind to yourself when you’re setting haircare goals. Social media has got us thinking all sorts of crazy things like “you hair should be this way, it should be that way.” and these people online don’t know you, they don’t know what you and your hair look like and where you’re starting.
But things like our hair are genetics. Your hair is a visual of your health, it's your genetics, it's your environment.
There are a lot of moving parts when it comes to wanting to grow healthier, longer hair or even, you know, to retain your length in general.
So be realistic with your goals and most importantly, be kind to yourself when you're setting these goals.
So I hope this helps you, and I hope that if you want to learn more about growing healthier, stronger hair, you join me as we talk about it, and the realities that come with it. I’m Melanie Day, and I’m here to help you become a more confident and phenomenal woman and heal from the hair trauma I know we’ve all experienced.
I’ll talk to you soon.
